I first met Peter Papadopoulos while I was working as an art director for Davis Publications in New York City. I commissioned him to shoot an assignment for Sylvia Porter’s Personal Finance Magazine.
I soon discovered that Peter liked his photos to have bite. He aimed for dimension and feeling that brought out strength in his work. He was always precise and exact but more important Peter’s lighting was extraordinary. The greatest composition can be lost if it isn’t properly lit. While I was art director for Ellery Queen’s Mystery Magazine I hired Peter to photograph famous authors and celebrities.
